Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Zinnia

Short walk today--too many hungry mosquitoes again. Makes me long for first frost (and then a long Indian Summer). Seeing this beauty was worth the bites.

Fuzzy Bee

A fuzzy photo of a fuzzy bee. The mosquitoes were dining on me every time I stopped walking so I didn't take the time needed to focus the camera on the bee. The clover leaves are nicely in focus! The mosquitoes are the worst I've ever experienced, even with deet and a net over my head, it is painful to be outside.

Hello Yellow!

These two have been busily collecting pollen!

And now that you've seen many of the yellow flowers I passed on today's walk, imagine lots of little yellow butterflies flitting about, teasingly calling, "Come take my picture!" and then fluttering away before I could get close.

So I took a photo of this beautiful, and cooperative, black swallowtail instead.

Turkeys on the Trail

As I was walking along the trail this morning I found a pretty turkey feather. Then I rounded the bend and found a whole lot more! (fuzzy photo because I couldn't get close without scaring them away)

In the Pink

And once again, I neglected to take my shadows for a walk for too long and they rebelled. Now I am trying to get back in the pink--daily walks are a must! Such lovely treats await me when I take the time to walk.
